A security lapse at Ohio University made 25,000 pictures of students freely available on a Web server with no password protection. The photos look like ID pictures used by the university’s residents assistants. Anyone who knew the web address could access the pictures. The problem was solved within hours.
I kind of find this big ordeal funny considering the use of Facebook by college students. In this incident no other information was given, whereas on Facebook students hardly hesitate to put anything on their profile. I understand the website was a problem due to privacy issues but honestly it was an innocent picture compared to what you see on facebook these days.
